48 Channel CCTV Systems
48 Channel CCTV Systems, are composed of forty-eight types of cctv cameras, a digital video recorder, sixty-four bnc connectors, thirty-two power leads, some type of power supply solution and RG59 coaxial or other cable application specific cable. When looking for a power supply, make sure the power supply adapter or power supply box has enough amperage to handle all your cctv cameras. Actually, with a 48 channel system, you are going to need three power distribution boxes of 18amps each. If your infrared cameras have high power voltage and amperage requirements, then you certainly want to put those on a separate box. You do not want to under power your other cameras; the result will be dismal. Cable is also another issue in this system. We build all packages here according to a range or standard per camera; however, distance plays a vital role in systems this size, because of distances from your dvr. If you measure more than 500 feet per run, you will need a fiber optics or video balun solution to distribute better signal to and from your digital video recorder. So in some applications you could have as much as 4000 feet of cable. Please make sure you configure this before checkout. Once your install is underway, you don't want to experience any delays. Record time is another issue. DVRs built at 48 channels are pc based cctv dvrs and therefore have H.264 D1 real-time recording. This means that you will have 30 frames per second per camera. If you do the math, you will determine that you are recording 1440 frames per second with 48 cameras running. We install 4 tera-bytes and if you divide that into a month (24 hours a day) you are looking at just two days record time. Obviously, you can set certain cameras on motion detection recording and save on space. You can extend your record time from 2 - 10 days. So you can see why this is also another important factor to consider. If you have additional questions, please call us we have experienced cctv consultants on standby ready to help.

External Recording Systems Are Needed For More Than A Month Record Time
As the title suggest, you will need to configure a custom solution for cctv applications that have a need for more than a months’ worth of record time. Record time is a serious thing to consider because of legal implications, archiving needs for operations management, risk management and other niche projects where data evaluation is critical. Inside most PC-based dvrs, there is limited space in hard-drive bays and we do not like to engineer recording on tera-byte hard-drive, just in case a hard-drive crashes. Typically, we like to daisy-chain 250gig hard-drive units together, leaving us with just 4 to 5 chambers of space. After you expand past a 18 channel, system it is a standard to look at a matrix external hard-drive system that can hold up to 20 250 gig hard drives in a 2U case and we have 4U cases that can take 50 250gig hard drives. Money should not be the concern, moreover, quality and performance of what you are investing into a cctv system. You will thank us later after you make the investment to have two or three of these units to handle archiving of your video for up to a year.
